GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Gibson County Redevelopment Commission has delayed a vote on the fairground improvement project.

Fair Board President Charlie Woodruft says the commission wants to gather more information and is expected to take up the issue at next month's meeting.

The commission is expected to submit a list of questions to be answered before there is a vote.

Local businesses and organizations have pledged their money and support. Woodruft says the Visitors and Tourism Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce along with Mulzer Crushed Stone of Evansville want to donate money.

The fairgrounds expansion is a $8.6 million improvement project.

If all goes well, officials would like to start construction after this year's county fair.
