Semi overturns near downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police shut down the interstate for several hours after a semi-truck overturned early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on I-40 West near the 2nd Avenue exit.

Westbound lanes were re-opened and traffic returned to normal by 6:30 a.m.

Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the guardrail before it overturned.

The driver sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The cargo hauled by the tractor-trailer was not hazardous.
