NORTH KOREA (CHOSUN SINBO/CNN) - Extraordinary new video shows American Kenneth Bae at a labor camp in North Korea, receiving a visit from a Swedish diplomat last Friday.
Bae says his message to his family is that he has not lost hope.
"I am stay strong mentally and spiritually, and I am trying to stay strong emotionally as well, but my main concern is my physical-condition-wise, doing hard labor for eight hours a day for the next couple of months will be difficult, so if they can do something right away, that would be the best way to do it," Bae said.
In the video, Bae says if he has to spend the next several months at the labor camp, he thinks he will probably be sent back to the hospital.
Bae expresses hope that North Korea would allow a U.S. envoy to visit.
The U.S. State Department said, Sunday, North Korea withdrew such an invitation.
The video of Bae was released by Chosun Sinbo, a pro-North Korea newspaper based in Japan, which has been given access to Bae in the past.
