CHICAGO (WBBM/CNN) - It is the message to a mystery mom that is warming hearts.
"Hi Mom, God bless U" was written in the snow on a parking garage outside of rush university medical center.
Shari Hart is the mom to whom this message in the snow was written. Hart was recently diagnosed with leukemia and has been at Rush University Medical Center since last week. This past Saturday, her 14-year-old son Will had an idea to cheer her up: Write a message in the snow. It started as a simple "Hi Mom."
"I thought it would nice for my mom to see it and for others to feel happy," he said.
Will then called his mom and told her to look outside.
"When I saw what he wrote I was just proud and amazed that he could think of doing something as spectacular as that for me just outside my window for everyone to see; it was a big, proud mommy moment," she said.
Since she was so moved by the message, her family decided to add to it and make it not just a message for her but everyone working and staying in this part of the hospital.
"We were looking up into the windows, and we could see all the people looking down, and we could see that a lot of people were appreciating it," her husband, Tim Hart, said.
Nurses say it's touched everyone's heart, especially other cancer patients. Another nurse shared a picture of the message on social media and it's taken on a life of its own.
"It's incredible, it's incredible how such a little simple message of love to his mother, it can blow up," Tim Hart said.
