NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man is behind bars after allegedly stalking a woman at an apartment complex and threatening her life.

The victim says the suspect, Julian Ortiz, was always "hanging out" at her apartment complex off Brittany Park Lane in Antioch.

The first incident happened in December. Police say Ortiz demanded the victim to open her apartment door and he pulled a gun on her. He allegedly threatened to kill her if she did not hang up her cell phone.

The victim says Ortiz has sent her several threatening messages since then.

On Tuesday, the victim says Ortiz forced her into his car, slapped her and drove around for 20 minutes threatening to crash into other cars head-on if she refused to talk to him.

The woman was eventually able to get away and called police.

Police tracked Ortiz down Thursday afternoon, and he was taken to the Metro jail on aggravated stalking charges.
