FBI raids Perrysburg apartment, arrests 3 in chop shop ring

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three people were arrested Thursday morningin Perrysburg after Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and US Marshals raidedan apartment.

Earl Beebe, John Debolt and Anthony Wymerwere booked into the Lucas County Jail after they were indicted on chargesrelated to a chop shop ring.

Police say the three were involved in a ringwhich stole semi tractor trailers from around the country and then chopped theminto pieces on Sterling Street in central Toledo.

Witnesses say agents approached the apartmentwith guns drawn while children waited for a school bus nearby.

"The fact that this sort of thing happensdoesn't surprise me at all. The fact that it happened in this neighborhood, Imean, you just never know," said Richard Andrews. "Economy is bad and peoplewhen they are stressed will do anything to make a buck, so to speak."
