MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) -

Sorrow and sadness turned to joy in Muhlenberg County.

The community said it's final goodbyes last weekend to the nine members of the Watson family killed in a house fire in January. A celebration was held Saturday to welcome home the two survivors.

The homecoming parade started at Muhlenberg County High School's West Campus, which is where funeral services were held for the mother and eight children of the family.

Tears of joy flowed down on '#WATSONSTRONG' T-shirts as hundreds gathered to show Chad and Kylie just how much they care.

The emergency personnel who worked to save the surviving family members lead the Caravan, driven by Chad while Kylie gazed outside the window waving, through the parade.

When Chad and Kylie Watson left on life-flight helicopters no one knew if they would survive, much less return home.
