HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A woman accused of stealing medicine from an apartment dumped the medication in a car wash a short time later, police said Monday.

Charlotte McEwen, 47, is charged with aggravated burglary, theft, tampering with evidence, and vandalism, said Hendersonville Detective Christopher Gagnon.

Police believe McEwen broke into the Lakeshore Apartments through a window on Monday.

Shortly after the crime was reported, McEwen was seen dumping stolen medication at a nearby car wash, Gagnon said.

Her bond was set at $6,000 and she is due in court March 12.

New federal regulations have changed what many kids who attend public schools eat for lunch at school. However, some area private schools don't have to follow those rules and have come up with their own new school lunch program.
