New license plate approved with Confederate flag in background

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The Department of Revenue has approved a new license plate that features the Confederate flag in the background.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans made a new version of their license plate available to all Georgia residents.

The plate features a prominent logo of the organization with larger stars and a Confederate battle flag image in the background.  The flag also covers the entire license plate.

The plate features a gold frame with the words "Sons of Confederate Veterans" displayed where county names used to appear.

    A fundraiser is in effect in Southern Illinois between Shawnee Tactical Solutions and the Stop the Bleeding Coalition to put specialized trauma kits in the hands of police departments.

    In an effort to save more lives in active shooter situation and beyond, Shawnee Tactical Solutions and the Stop the Bleeding Coalition are partnering up to put special trauma kits in the hands of police officers.
