2/22/14 - Bob Reeves

By now most of you know that Bob Reeves is retiring. His final forecast is planned for this Wednesday on Heartland News at Six.

For 42 years Bob's been the face of KFVS12. He was hired in 1970 by the original founder of KFVS, Oscar Hirsch. Since then he's been a reporter, anchor, assignment editor, assistant news director, farm director, and of course, weather forecaster. But more than that, he's been a friend, a mentor, and a role model for countless KFVS employees through the years who've had the honor of working with him.

In a business where people may come and go pretty often, Bob has been that rock that you've depended on for more than a generation. There's no telling how many lives Bob has protected over the years with his accurate, consistent, and professional style of keeping us calm in the storms.

I asked him the other day how he'd like to be remembered after his retirement. It didn't take him long to say, "I hope I am remembered as a good broadcaster."

Bob, I'd like to thank you, for being a great broadcaster, and the face of KFVS for 42 years. And I know he thanks all of you for making his forecasts and KFVS12 part of your lives.  42 years...a fixture in the heartland...you will be missed. Best of luck to you and Bev on this next step in your journey.
