SANDUSKY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

While the rest of us have to wait until spring to visit Cedar Point, a select group of enthusiasts got a mid-winter peek at the park on Saturday.

More than 330 serious fans of the amusement park took part in the Cedar Point Winter Chill Out event, 77 days before the official Opening Day.

Participants were given an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the park and a chance to ask questions of Cedar Point's new general manager.

In addition, more than $13,000 was raised at the event for Give Kids the World Village, a Central Florida non-profit resort that provides vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Cedar Point opens for the rest of us on May 10.
