LOCKPORT, IL (WBBM/CBS) - The owner of a farm that houses wild animals ran into trouble with police after several residents saw him walking his tiger and taking it inside a bar.

John Basile, who runs the Big Run Wolf Ranch just outside town, faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, reckless conduct and possession of a dangerous animal.

"My concern was really for the people who frequent the downtown area," Police Chief Terry Lemming said. "This was 7:30 at night on a Sunday in an area that has a lot of people walking around."

His ranch is a federally licensed business behind his home that invites the public to view wolves, bears and a tiger. Basile also takes the animals out for shows at schools and charities.

The bar where Basile and the tiger were spotted was allegedly the same place it bit a woman in December, although she never reported it.

An employee at Basile's ranch said they had no comment.
