CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Donning Tevas, tennis shoes, SCUBA booties and even the head to a panda costume, Northeast Ohioans paraded into the cold waters of Lake Erie at Edgewater Park Saturday, March 1.

Participants paid between $25 and $30 to participate in the philanthropic event.

The gals and guys were taking a dip to pad the coffers, and raise awareness, of two very good causes: the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Team Fox, which is Michael J. Fox's organization to find a cure for Parkinson's Disease.

A quick check of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAAwebsite reveals the temperature for the lake was a tepid 32 degrees.

After they submersed, participants headed to an after party hosted at The Barley House on West 6th Street.
