MADISON COUNTY, MS -

(WMC-TV) - An AMBER Alert was issued for a 2-year-old girl in Madison County by Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Myra Lewis, 2, was last seen Saturday morning just after 11 a.m. at her home in Camden, Miss.

Family members, friends, and others in the Camden, Miss. community are pleading for any information that could lead them to the little girl.

"Parents stated they last saw the 2-year-old around 10 Saturday morning," said Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker. "There were several kids there. The father was watching an infant child inside, went outside to play, and the 2-year-old wandered off."

But the call was not made to Madison County Sheriff's Office until 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

"We've searched approximately four square miles around the residence and unfortunately, we have not been able to locate Myra," said the sheriff.

In addition to the sheriff's office and police agencies, volunteers are out helping with the search.

"I thought about my baby and it could have been my baby, so it's sad. She's only 2 years old and it just deepens my heart because it could have been my child, he's 2," said volunteer Cassandra Bacon.

Lewis' family says they are too devastated to talk on camera, but they say they are exhausting all resources from billboards to fliers.

"I'm pleading for the family right now," said family friend Gloria Nelson. "Because, right now, they are in a lot of hurt and pain and all I'm asking is anybody that know anything, please go to authorities."

Lewis was wearing a turquoise sweater with a bear on the front, off-white or khaki pants, and pink glittery tennis shoes. She is described as 34 inches tall and 27 pounds.

If you have any information about her whereabouts, call 855-642-5378.
