NORTH OLMSTED, OH (WOIO) -

Nearly three dozen bowlers and donors laced up their bowling shoes Sunday, March 1, 2014 to support the Animals' Disaster Team with their strikes and spares.

Each paid $20 for three games and a good time all geared towards displaced pets at Buckeye Lanes.

"We're like the Red Cross, but for pets," organizer Sue Gundich explained. "When people are displaced due to disaster we help the animals."

Animals' Disaster Team serves all of Cuyahoga County.

This inaugural event brought in $12,000.

The funds will be used to train new volunteers.

Anyone who missed out and would like to help with a monetary donation can write:
