27-year-old man murdered on Cleveland's eastside

Cleveland Police Officers are investigating a fatal shooting on the city's eastside.

Fourth District Officers say Durrell Ware, 27, was shot and killed on East 116th Street near Union on Monday, March 3, just after 4:30 a.m.

Ware was driven to South Pointe Hospital in a private vehicle where he later died round 5:30 a.m.

The driver of that vehicle told officers that they were driving in the area of E. 116th and MLK when the suspect vehicle going in the opposite direction, fired several shots into their car.  The victim was struck at that time.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the final cause of death.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the homicide unit at 216-623-5464.
