Sheriff: 3-year-old Amado boy shot

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pima County Sheriff's detectives responded to a home in Amado, south of Tucson, where they said a 3-year-old suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the lower torso around 12:45 p.m.

Officials said the boy is in stable condition following surgery at a trauma center Monday.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing in the 26900 block of S. Monarch Way, about three miles east of Interstate 19.
