Alabama Christian Academy students raised more than $30,000 in their annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign. The school celebrated the conclusion to the month-long campaign on Friday, and also celebrated breaking the school record for the most amount raised in the school's history.

ACA students, grades K4-5th grade, set a school record by raising more than $29,000 last year. Students broke that record this year by more than $2,000, raising a total of $31,201. ACA has been the top fundraising school in the state for the past 14 years, and they hope to make this year the 15th in a row.

"We are so proud of our students and the amount of money they raised this year," said Patti Turner, Physical Education Specialist. "Our goal for this campaign is to not only raise money for the American Heart Association, but we also want to instill into our kids at a young age the importance of healthy living habits. We hope raising awareness to heart disease at an early age will help our students reduce their risk for heart disease."

ACA students celebrated the conclusion of the campaign with an award ceremony for the top fundraisers and a jump rope competition for K4-2nd grade students. The students who raised the most money, also had an opportunity to pour something over the elementary principal's head. Students chose various items from syrup to whip cream.
