MUNFORD, TN -

(WMC-TV) - In Munford, Tenn., there is a tale of two streets.

There is virtually no ice on Highway 51 except for on the shoulders of the road. On Highway 206 it is a much different story, where plenty of ice is making it tough for drivers.

However, roads are not the only concern in the freezing temperatures Monday night. Some residents are shivering and bundling up to stay warm because they are without heat.

Flashing lights on utility trucks are still blinking, while Julie Price's candle keeps flickering.

"We heard the tree fall, and when the tree fell, the power went out," said Price.

Price and her family have been without heat or power in their Munford apartment complex since 2:00 a.m. Monday morning.

"We've got two layers of everything on. We've been bundled up and in the car a lot trying to charge phones and stuff," she said.

Frozen tree limbs and power lines continue to make it difficult for crews who have been working overtime to get people's lights turned back on in Tipton County.

"I've got trees front yard and back yard that are broken," added Munford resident, Joe Harvey.

Monday evening, workers dug a ditch to bury a power line and hoped to eventually have the lights back on by the night's end. Price is keeping her fingers crossed that she will have a better ending to a day she is ready to forget.

"We were going to go to a hotel but got stuck," said Price.

There are approximately a couple hundred customers in Tipton County without power Monday night. Most are concerned about the roads tomorrow morning with all of the ice still hanging around.
