TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police located a gun discovered missing from a police officer's holster after a long foot chase with a suspect.

TPD Sgt. Chris Widmer said police caught up with Adrian Pride, 18, who is suspected of stealing a purse around 12 p.m. Monday.

Pride led officers through residential yards and over walls before they arrested him in the 500 block of N. Shawnee Avenue. According to a news release, Pride allegedly shoplifted an item from a Safeway store, then grabbed the victim's purse outside the store and ran off.

Police booked him into the Pima County Jail on charges of shoplifting and theft.

After the chase, an officer discovered his gun wasn't in his holster but it was later recovered on March 5, according to TPD.

The investigation is ongoing.
