You would think he is a small forward for the Troy basketball team.
Instead, he's a former prized recruit out of Gardendale High School looking to win out Troy's vacant starting quarterback job.
"It's an awesome opportunity. I hope to take advantage of it. Hopefully I win it out, but it's a great competition already," said Tidwell.
The competition is fierce. Tidwell is alongside four other quarterbacks on Troy's roster this spring.
He does boast the only resume in camp with experience at the D1 level.
Dallas attempted 19 passes over the past two seasons with 137 yards and two touchdowns.
His biggest pass came against Ole Miss last season.
A 50 yard completion to Chandler Worthy.
"There are still great players in the first, second and third team in D1 football. Throwing the deep ball against the SEC team, that was a pride moment being so young. It was fun," stated Tidwell.
Tidwell says the deep ball is one of the things he took from watching Corey Robinson over the years.
"He throws the deep ball better than some of the quarterbacks I've seen ever, especially in college football. He's been very helpful to me in the film room and stuff like that. So, I try to pick up on little things from him and stuff like that," stated Tidwell.
