NUNNELLY, TN (WSMV) -

A house fire in Hickman County that killed two people in January has been officially ruled as an accident.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says evidence supports that a space heater of some sort sparked, causing a fire at the home on Dodd Hollow Road.

Authorities initially thought the fire was intentionally set but say what they thought to be accelerant turned out to be fumes from burned plastic.

The victims of the fire, R.T. Rivers and Ruby Rivers, were in their late 80s. R.T. Rivers was a longtime business owner and preacher while Ruby Rivers was a mother to several children.
