Ober Wins Third CAA Weekly Honor

RICHMOND, VA -

CofC freshman pitcher Bailey Ober has been named the CAA Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The award is the third for the righty from Huntersville, N.C., as Ober won the Pitcher of the Week in week one and the CAA Rookie of the Week last week.

Ober is coming off a phenomenal complete-game shutout of The Citadel, vaulting the Cougars to an 8-0 win and a series victory last night. Ober allowed just two hits and struck out eight batters without issuing a walk. It marked CofC's first complete-game shutout since the 2010 season.

Dating back to Feb. 19, Ober has now thrown 18 consecutive innings without a run, while he has 26 strikeouts with no walks on the season, sporting a perfect 4-0 record. He is the first four-game winner in the CAA and is second in the league with a 0.55 WHIP.

William & Mary's Nick Thompson earned CAA Player of the Week honors while teammate Nick Brown was the CAA Rookie of the Week.
