SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Another fundraiser is in the works to help raise money for the Parris family, whose son Bobby is battling cancer.

Bobby Parris, 21, has worked at the Beacon Drive-In and his father has served with the Spartanburg Police Department and now is a deputy with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

The benefit for Parris is set for Friday March 21 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Co-workers and other supporters have banded together to help raise money for the rising medical costs Parris faces.

In 2012, Parris was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and has had extensive chemo-therapy and long bouts of radiation treatments. Then in December, a follow-up showed his battle with cancer is not over.

He will travel to Charleston in late March to undergo stem cell extraction, aggressive chemo treatments, then re-insertion of the stored cells. This process is expected to last into May.

The Beacon said they will donate profits and donations received during the benefit on March 21. Additionally, Ronnie Forrester, who works with Spartanburg's Police Department, plans to rally support from other fellow police, fire, and city employees, their families and friends to collect donations and donate their time that night serving customers.

The Beacon is located at 255 John B. White Sr. Blvd. in Spartanburg.
