GREENFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The search continued Thursday afternoon for Rebecca Streeter, a missing Greenfield woman who disappeared nearly a month ago, leaving her family desperate for answers.

The Greenfield Police Department, Greenfield Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police all took to the waters in Greenfield hoping to find any clue that would lead them to those answers.

Sgt. Daniel McCarthy of the Greenfield Detective Bureau said the 35-year-old was last seen Feb. 28.

"Right now we really don't have any concrete leads as to whether she left on her own," said McCarthy.

Streeter was last seen leaving her home on Camp Avenue which is adjacent to the river, leading police there to look for clues.

"It takes some extensive planning because going into the river you want a safe and successful operation," said McCarthy.

Search and Rescue crews examined the area from the ground, water and air looking for any sign of Streeter.

The search primarily focused in on where the Deerfield River meets the Connecticut River.

"As procedure, we should check all avenues and with her house abutting the river, it was a logical choice to check that area," explained McCarthy.

According to police, Streeter has gone off on her own one time in the past.

She returned home a week later.

However, this time, she left without her wallet and keys.

Police said she recently lost a younger sister under tragic circumstances and as the anniversary of her disappearance approaches the one-month mark, it is a cause for concern.

They said Streeter has never had suicidal tendencies and is a grandmother-to-be, so being gone for this long is unusual.

But after a nearly two-hour search, police said nothing was recovered that could lead them to her whereabouts.

Police remained firm that the search is not over. They said they will revisit leads that have come into the station.

They are also asking members of the public who may have any information on Streeter's disappearance to contact the department at 413-773-5411.
