GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says that two men were arrested recently on various drug charges.

Shannon Rodgers, 42, of Marion, Ky. and Gary Crawford, Jr., 40, of Mayfield, Ky. were arrested after a traffic stop approximately 3 miles south of Mayfield.

According to Sheriff Redmon, he received a call from a business person reporting that the pair had been seen near Mayfield and appeared to be under the influence of some type of drugs. Detectives found Rodgers’s vehicle traveling south on KY 303 and initiated a traffic stop near Sharon Church on KY303.

Sheriff Redmon said officers were aware that Rodgers had an outstanding felony theft warrant from Marshall County.

During the traffic stop, officers say Gary Crawford was non-compliant and began resisting. They say he was eventually detained after a non-lethal weapon was used on him.

Both Crawford and Rodgers were charged with possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, deputies say Crawford was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana. They were taken to the Graves County Jail awaiting court proceedings.

The Kentucky State Police and Mayfield Graves County EMS responded to help the Sheriff’s Office detectives. Crawford was checked for injuries and released to the sheriff’s office. No other injuries were reported.
