HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg chapter of a national sorority raised money for scholarships and honored several distinguished members of the community during an annual luncheon Saturday. 

The Lambda Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority hosted its 2nd Ava Cobbins Finer Womanhood Scholarship Luncheon at the Trent Lott Center on the Southern Miss campus. 

The event raised money for two college scholarships. 

It also honored five people for their service to the community. They included scholastic endeavor honoree Renea Causey, heath advocate honoree Dr. Siddeeqah Bilal, organization honoree the Hattiesburg Police Athletic League, small business entrepreneur honoree Robert Tate and social justice honoree Gay Polk-Payton.

The event also featured a silent auction.
