VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Houston, Texas man running an alleged gambling scam is behind bars in Warren County.

Thomas Stephanis, 72, is facing felony charges of running a gambling operation without a license
and a separate felony charge of enticing someone to gamble.

Stephanis' bond was set at $35,000.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Stephanis and two Jackson men would lure local businessmen into a card game.

Pace said Stephanis could manipulate the game and would allow the victims to win for a little while then they would lose big time.

The two accomplices were arrested on misdemeanor gambling charges.
