Man who killed puppy in dishwasher sentenced to jail

(WMC-TV) A Memphis man who killed a puppy by putting it in a dishwasher will spend more than one year in jail for the crime.

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Marcus Curry was sentenced this week for aggravated animal cruelty.They say last June, he put the dog in the dishwasher, turned it on and left it running.

Police say the small mixed breed named Daisy was not moving when Curry opened the dishwasher.
