LEIGHTON, AL (WAFF) -

Leighton police reported the arrest of a man Sunday morning for failing to notify that he was a registered sex offender.

Police said Thomas Timothy Harville, 42, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. after a two week investigation.

Officers said Harville violated the Community Notification Act when he moved from Lawrence County, where he was registered as a sex offender, to Colbert County without telling police. Police said he had taken up residence at 1980 Clark Street in Leighton.

Authorities reported that Harville was arrested at the home of former Leighton City Councilwoman Teresa Lannaman. Investigators are working to find out if Lannaman could face charges.

Harville was booked into Colbert County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
