CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A Carbondale man was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections in connection with an aggravated robbery, according to Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr.

Eric L.C. Miller, 24, was sentenced for his role in the aggravated robbery of a Carbondale man on January 17, 2014.

According to Carr, officers were called to the South Lake Heights area on Jan. 17 and spoke with the victim and a witness who indicated that Miller entered the home of the victim, followed shortly by a masked person who was holding what appeared to be a firearm. He said the masked individual then demanded money and, in fact, took money from the home of the victim.

Both Miller and a con-defendant ran away.

Miller was caught by the Carbondale Police Department, and in a post-Miranda interview, Carr said Miller acknowledged and admitted his role in the aggravated robbery.

The co-defendant, Kojo Beck, is awaiting trial on these charges.

This case was investigated by the Carbondale Police Department. Assistant State's Attorney Mark Hamrock prosecuted this case.
