MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Department of Conservation has raised the priceof hunting and fishing license fees.

According to the Department of Conservation, the fees areincreased every year in order to keep up with inflation. The increase this yearis $.20 more for a resident all game license and $.10 for a resident freshwaterlicense. The fee increases are determined by the Consumer Price Index, and thisyear's increase is below 1% according to the CPI.

 The increases go todifferent committees for approval before they are placed into action. Thereason for the yearly increase is so that license fees do not double in priceevery five years.
