GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

It came, it rained, it flooded.

In Gregg County, roads flooded, cars were swamped, and bridges closed because of the flooding.

Sections of Highway 80 and Cotton Street in Longview had to be closed as Grace Creek overflowed and blocked the roadways.

A car with four people in it was swamped in three feet of water as it went under the Green Street rail underpass. All four occupants made it out safely.

In Kilgore, Highway 259 had to be closed off as water spilled over the roadway.

For some motorists it took numerous detours to get where they needed to go.

"About two hours ago, it took me about 45 minutes to go 10 miles to see a patient. Going around the flooded roads, finding a way to get through town town," says hospice worker Tim Crofford.

All the flooded roads were re-opened after the waters subsided Sunday evening.

There were no major accidents reported due to the flooding.
