Tucson Police have identified the victim in Wednesday night's shooting on the south side.

According to police, 21-year-old Martin Jesus Echeverria-Garcia was found with obvious gunshot wounds in the 5200 block of S. Placita Brisa Grande at around 11:23 p.m.  According to a caller there were two people at the scene, one on the ground and another next to the victim.

When TPD officers arrived they only found Garcia on the ground. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but later died from his wounds.

TPD Homicide detectives are continuing the investigation, and are saying the shooting may have occurred at a different location.
