Cleveland doesn't make list of top places for recent grads to live

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland not on the list of top 10 best cities for recent college graduates.

"Which is amazing to me because Cleveland is a great city. It's putting itself together as we speak. A lot of new things coming around," says Jeremy Novak.

"They just don't know. They've never been here. It's definitely up and coming, and I'm excited," Elise Sailors said.

Our neighbors Cincinnati was ranked sixth and Columbus ranked fifth in a study from Apartments.com.

The site looked at employment opportunities for college graduates, affordable living, and social life for young adults.

"We've got Playhouse Square. The bar scene is really nice down here. During the summer it's the place to be," says Novak.

Apartments.com ranked the top 100 cities with the highest apartment unit availability, with factors like unemployment rate, median income, and percentage of people living in the city between the ages of 25 and 29.

"I think to a degree it's pretty accurate," says a graduate student who didn't want to be identified.

He agrees Cleveland should not be on the list.

"I've got a B. A. and I'm getting a second B. A. and I still can't find a job in the Political Science field so it does say a lot. I'm actually intending on moving somewhere else after the end of the semester," he says.

"I'll be going to the police academy and this is where I'll be looking to stay," says Novak.
