McKee M.S. students set for nationals after regional SECME win

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Students at McKee Middle School in Montgomery are gearing up for a national math and science competition.

Last weekend 20 students traveled to Tuskegee University and, for the second consecutive year, won first place in the regional Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering, Science, Technology and Mathematics competition!

"It's great to see when your kids put forth a lot of work and dedication and it pays off," said teacher Jennifer Julius. "Our goal was not to win, but to make sure they do their very best."

The students will head to nationals, which will take place on the campus of the University of Alabama-Birmingham this June.
