It’s a heavily debated issue that will come to a vote on the August ballot. It’s called "Right to Farm" or Amendment 1.Many farmers say it would protect them from too much government regulation, but other locals say it would keep the government from protecting the environment.

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Autenzio family in Spartanburg only had a glimmer of hope they would ever see their cat Bruno again after he went missing two years ago.

"We went to a family wedding in Philadelphia," said Ellen Autenzio, "and we boarded him for the first time. The day before [my daughter] was going to go pick him up, he escaped from the vets."

Tuesday, however, Autenzio's prayers were answered, when Greenville County Animal Care Services called.

"She said 'we have a cat here, 9 years old, neutered male, with a microchip,'" said Autenzio. "'Your name is on it, call us back.'"

She did, and then raced with her daughter to the shelter. Sure enough, it was Bruno.

"We felt like we were dreaming. It seemed like a dream," Autenzio said.

It was thanks to a microchip the Autenzio's had implanted under Bruno's skin when they got him in 2006. He was picked up in Spartanburg, and using a scanner wand, animal care identified him and his owners.

"If we had not microchipped Bruno, we would not have gotten him back. I don't believe we would have seen him again," said Autenzio."Microchip your pets if you love them."

You can get your pet a microchip at Greenville County Animal Care Services for just $10. For more information, click here.
