Untapable wins the 140th Kentucky Oaks

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Before the third largest crowd to ever watch the race, Untapable has won the 140th running of the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs.

With jockey Rosie Napravnik aboard, Untapable crossed the finish line ahead of My Miss Sophia in second with Unbridled Forever finishing third.

The race was run in a time of 1:48.68.

The start of the race was delayed when Empress of Midway, the number 10 horse, reared up in the starting gate and fell. She was removed from the gate and scratched from the race. The horse is owned in part by UofL men's basketball coach Rick Pitino.

The crowd for Oaks Day 140 was 113,071 to watch the field of 12 fillies.
