MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - The bride and groom have said 'I do' after a wedding ceremony that brought two British royals to Bluff City.

Memphis has been in the global spotlight during a visit from wedding guests Prince William and Prince Harry, who tasted our world famous barbecue and visited some Memphis landmarks.

The royal brothers are in town attending the wedding of British nightclub owner Guy Pelly and native Memphian Lizzy Wilson, heiress of the Holiday Inn Hotel chain.

During the big arrival, Prince William, in tie and tails, got out of the black SUV, opening his own door. He then walked around to the other side of the SUV, opened that door and helped a dark-haired woman get out of the back passenger side.

Royal watchers spent the day camped outside Memphis Hunt and Polo Club hoping to see royalty, and they got what they wished for. Princes William and Harry arrived in a motorcade.

"The entourage was kind of just a distraction and then they came in afterwards. That was exciting," said Megan Lay Donahoe.

And of course, there were the princesses.

"Eugenie was in a car and Beatrice was in one of the buses," added Elizabeth Coplon.

Socializing before the start of the ceremony, men, women and children were dressed to the nines. There were seats for roughly 200 guests, an area for the band to perform and up front, an arch for the altar.

"It's a really good thing for Memphis to have going on. It's really bringing the community together," said Megan Lay Donahoe.

The bride's bouquet: Electric Blue Hydrangeas. On Facebook, local florist Garden District posted a photo of boutonnieres for the 'Wilson Wedding'

The wedding cake had six tier, with two peacocks perched on top, and the grooms cake was a fox outfitted in a hunting outfit. The bakery, The Flour Garden, also posted photos on Facebook.

"I hope they feel very welcome and know that we are excited and that they would come back for some reason or another," added Jerri Cook.

WMC Action News 5 grounded Chopper 5 before the nuptials so Wilson could have a quiet ceremony. The Jimmy Church Band is performing for the reception, and the party is supposed to go on until midnight.
