Suspect charged with murder in case of missing Jackson man

Robert Ross Robert Ross
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An Arkansas man is charged with murdering a 29-year-old Jackson man.

Robert Ross of Jackson was last seen at the Dominos on Jefferson Street on March 28th.

His vehicle was found almost a week later on Highway 160 in Arkansas.

22-year-old Norvell Childs, of Lake Village, Ark, is being held on a 250 thousand dollar bond in Arkansas.

Authorities believe Ross's body was dumped into the Mississippi River.

There's black paint on the bridge where authorities believe Childs tried to cover up the blood from Ross' body that spilled onto the bridge before being thrown over.

Childs is locked up on a felony murder charge and a quarter million dollar bond.

While authorities continue to search for a motive in the case, they also continue to search the Mississippi River for Ross's body.

His vehicle has been sent to the Arkansas state crime lab.
