Richmond police search for man who tried to kidnap teen

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Police are searching for a man who tried to grab a teenage girl walking in Richmond.

The girl was walking in the 2800 block of Fairfield Avenue on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. when a red car drove past her a few times. Moments later a man grabbed her from behind and told her to get in the car. She managed to get away and run to safety.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his late 30s to early 40s with several pockmarks on his face. He was last seen wearing a three-piece, dark gray suit with a pin-striped gray hat that matched the suit. The vehicle is described as a two-door red car.

Police ask anyone with any information about this man or this incident to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
