MARIETTA, GA (CBS46) -

CBS46 has exclusive video of the final suspect getting rearrested after he escaped from the Cobb County Jail in Marietta on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators began focusing their attention at a home on the 600 block of Chamberlain Circle in southwest Marietta after Gabriel Juarez led them to the inmate's jail uniform. The uniform was found in a shed behind the home.

Juarez told CBS46's Mike Paluska they never lock the shed, but on Thursday it was. Juarez climbed in through a back window to unlock the door.

"My uncle, he came and he was returning a Weed Eater that we let him borrow, and the door was locked and we never leave it locked, we just leave it open like this," Juarez said.

As a deputy took the uniform into evidence, more and more law enforcement officers arrived at the location. Then the officers cleared the scene and continued their search.

That is when we went down to see where the clothes were found.

As we interviewed Juarez, neither of us realized that the escaped inmate, 22-year-old Trevor Mandich, was hiding in the ceiling above us.

"I am so scared," Juarez said. "He was hiding up here and he really didn't even notice cause nobody checked."

We interviewed Juarez at about 8:10 p.m. Investigators returned to the shed roughly 30 minutes later and found Mandich hiding in the ceiling. He fought back and was taken into custody by deputies who had to carry him to the waiting patrol car. He had been on the run for more than 5 hours.

Friday CBS46 obtained the arrest warrants. Mandich was in jail due to a probation violation and burglary. According to the warrant, he burglarized his own family in Marietta in February stealing "jewelry, two handguns, and a laptop computer".

Authorities captured 44-year-old Richard Hattersley, who also escaped from the work detail a few hours earlier. The arrest warrant shows he was in jail for begging outside of a Publix in Smyrna and then lying to police about his identity and birth date.

Juarez said he thought Mandich was gone and couldn't believe how close he came to the escaped inmate.

"I was shocked, it is a big relief thinking they caught him," Juarez said.

Both men will face additional charges for their attempted escape.
