COLLIERVILLE, TN -
(WMC) - The Collierville and Memphis communities are keeping an eye out for a man who tried to allegedly abduct a young girl. Witnesses say the man tried not once, but twice to get the young girl in the 1500 block of Franklin Dale Cove.

Parents are remaining vigilant and looking out for any suspicious activity, while Collierville police are remaining tight lipped.

Collierville police officers have been spending a lot of time patrolling around Franklin Dale Cove as they investigate reports that a man tried to abduct a little girl on two separate days this week.

Parents like Phyllis Ennis say they have been reading police department posts on Facebook that describe a silver General Motors truck, with dark back tinted window with a fleur-de-lis logo. Police described the driver as a white male in his early fifties.

"Scary, scary, its crazy," said Ennis.

WMC Action News 5 went to Collierville police headquarters to get more information, but no one was available to comment.

According to the police department's Facebook page, officers want to talk to the suspect about an alleged confrontation that happened in the Franklin Dale Cove area this week involving a little girl.

"So obviously it makes me feel uncomfortable enough to ask some questions," said Rick Marwin. "My kids are grown now, but I have a grandchild is one reason I am concerned."

Meanwhile, parents are warning others to keep a look out for anything suspicious, and not to let your children out of your sight and police are asking both residents and parents to remain vigilant.

"Just watch. Be alert; watch everything that is going on you know don't let them out of your sight by themselves," added Ennis.

Officials have not released details about what happened. Investigators say if you have any information about the driver and or the truck, please call Collierville police at 901-853-3207.
