FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three people from Toledo were arrested after police say they robbed two stores in Findlay on Saturday afternoon.

Asia Burwell, 19, Johntae Chatman, 24, and Lashonna Kincade, 22, were taken into police custody. Police say Kincade was not arrested for involvement with the robbery, but rather for an outstanding felony warrant out of Wood County.

Findlay Police were sent to The Buckle on Tiffin Avenue on a robbery complaint, where they found a male employee who had been pepper sprayed. The employee had tried to intervene in the theft when he was pepper sprayed.

Police say the suspects had already committed a theft at Dunham's Sporting Goods in the same shopping complex.

"It was initially a shoplifting type theft. When they fled, one of the females brought out her own can of pepper spray and she used that pepper spray on one of the employees to get away," said Lt. Robert Ring with the Findlay Police Department.

After police disseminated vehicle and suspect descriptions to local law enforcement, the suspects were stopped on I-75 by a Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper. Stolen merchandise was found in the vehicle.

Police say Burwell is the one that had the pepper spray and faces a robbery charge. Chatman faces a complicity to commit robbery charge.
