MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - Rain, wind, thunder and lightning sent Memphis in May Sunset Symphony festival goers running for cover, as musicians worked quickly to get instruments out of harms way.

Saturday night's storm even had event emcee and WMC Action News 5's, Ron Childers, taking cover.

"We consistently monitor the weather to ensure the public's safety, as it is of upmost importance," says Jim Holt, President & CEO of Memphis in May. "We regret the traditional fireworks were not able to take place, which would have served as the grand finale for a month long celebration. Rest assured, we will have double the fireworks in 2015 as a way to show our appreciation for another wonderful Memphis in May."
