PREIT to Partner with Uber in Week-Long Event

PHILADELPHIA, June 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT/NYSE: PEI) today announced it will host the first-ever PREIT South Jersey Restaurant Week at Cherry Hill Mall, Moorestown Mall and Voorhees Town Center from July 13th – 20th.

PREIT (PEI) has a primary focus on the ownership and management of differentiated retail shopping malls crafted to fit the dynamic communities they serve. The Company operates properties in 12 states in the eastern U.S. with concentration in the Mid-Atlantic and Greater Philadelphia region. The Company is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More information about PREIT can be found at or on Twitter or LinkedIn.

During the week-long promotion, guests will be offered special menus and/or pricing from an array of destination restaurants at all three of PREIT's southern New Jersey shopping centers (see full list of participants below).

PREIT was the first mall developer in the Philadelphia/South Jersey region to introduce the concept of a Mall Restaurant Week and debuted the event last year at Cherry Hill Mall. Recognizing the growing role of socialization and entertainment in both the dining out experience and the ever-evolving mall industry, this year PREIT launched the first-ever PREIT South Jersey Restaurant Week by expanding the event to include Moorestown Mall and Voorhees Town Center. In addition, the event will bring digital and social media into the mix, starting with a kick off preview event for local food critics and bloggers.

"This event is an innovative way to drive customers to our shopping centers and show the community firsthand the great amenities and offerings at Cherry Hill Mall, Moorestown Mall and Voorhees Town Center," said Joseph F. Coradino, PREIT CEO. "We are redefining the conventional shopping center environment and delivering an all-inclusive experience complete with desirable retail options, an array of events, entertainment choices and several fine dining selections. PREIT has long recognized the value in a great dining experience, particularly at our shopping centers, and we are excited to offer our loyal customers these great deals."

In addition, PREIT is excited to announce that the Company has partnered with Uber, which will sponsor the week-long event. Members of the local Uber team will be at Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown Mall in June to promote their uberX offering, a safe, affordable and reliable service shoppers have come to want and need when visiting PREIT malls.

"Partnering with our friends at PREIT and being involved in a fun and entertaining event like PREIT South Jersey Mall Restaurant Week is a great opportunity," said Uber spokesperson Genna Smyth. "Restaurant Week is an excellent way to let South Jersey residents know about uberX and we look forward to providing Restaurant Week-goers with a low cost and reliable option to safely travel to and from their favorite restaurants."

PREIT has stayed on the cutting edge of retail by creating more experiential shopping and dining opportunities at their properties. In the past five years alone, PREIT has added nearly 20 new restaurants to the Philadelphia suburbs, with more than half of which are located in South Jersey.
