MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

"[I've had] wedding receptions to about anything, but a bar church is a first, no doubt," Rock Bottom American Pub Owner Brad Gill said.

A local pastor is embarking on a new way to spread the word of God -- Sunday morning worship inside a bar.

Grace Life Bar Church Pastor Paul Lammon is breaking the mold of a traditional church building.

"There are people that love God, but hate religion," Lammon said. "Your favorite place might be a bar. So why not have a church there?"

Lammon has been the youth pastor at Grace Life Church in Prattville for three years. Now he will pastor the Grace Life Bar Church inside Rock Bottom American Pub in Montgomery.

"Just what Jesus would do -- would go to anybody and everybody and just share God's love with them and it's just that simple. And that's what is going to revolutionize and change people's lives," Lammon said.

Lammon said alcohol won't be provided during the service, but attendees will be sitting near a bar that will open up after service.

"We want you here and we want to just show you love and acceptance and let God work out the rest," Lammon said. "Our motto is 'give us a shot.' We're in a bar. We're doing something different, give us a shot," Lammon said.

Services will be held on Sunday mornings at 10:45. The first service will be June 29.
