KERN COUNTY, CA (KGET/CNN) - Crews are battling a 1,800-acre wildfire in central California.

The so-called Shirley Fire is only 10-percent contained.

The U.S. Forest Service says westerly winds and dry, drought-like conditions are fueling the flames.

Some 500 residents in Kern County received evacuation advisories late Saturday.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
