RAYTOWN, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities are investigating after thieves damaged dozens of Raytown storage units over the weekend.

Police were called to a business in the 7900 block of Woodson Road on Monday morning regarding the damage and possible entry of several storage units over the last two days.

Investigators determined that 52 individual storage units were damaged and 47 had possibly been entered. Management for Public Storage did not return telephone calls seeking comment.

Detectives were called to the scene to assist with processing the scene for evidence.

Authorities are working to contact the renters of the units to determine if anything may have been stolen.

Danielle Cullen is very upset after losing valuables, including a guitar.

"It's pretty bad, it's pretty bad," Cullen said. "I feel like when you put your stuff in storage then you should feel like your personal belongings are safe. You should feel OK and I feel very violated."

Yvette Ray also said she feels violated.

"They went through a lot of my things that I'm just like, 'Wow, I can't believe they went through this stuff,'" Ray said.

She had put her items in storage in November in anticipation of a move.

"My daughter's computer is gone. A television is gone. Her shoes are gone. Her Jordan's of course. Those are a lot of money," she said. "Clothes and other garments such as coats and things like that."

She is now packing up her remaining items and moving them to hopefully a more secure location.

There is no suspect information or surveillance video available at this time.

Ray and others are wondering why there wasn't a silent alarm?  And why when the gate was broken did it go undetected for so long?

The thieves used a truck to enter the facility through a side gate.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
