Western Mass. July 4 firework display, celebration schedule

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Take a look at our schedule for July 4 celebrations throughout western Mass:

• Agawam – Six Flags New England will have fireworks nightly July 4, 5, and 6. Active and retired military will receive free admission.

• Amherst – Festivities begin July 5 at 5 p.m., with fireworks to follow at 9:30 p.m. at UMass.

• Chesterfield: A parade will be held July 4 at 10:30 a.m.

• Chicopee – Fireworks will be held Saturday June 28 at about 9 p.m. at Szot Park. A rain date is set for the following day, June 29.

• East Longmeadow – Fireworks will be held July 3 at 10 p.m. at the East Longmeadow High School. The parade scheduled for July 4 at 10 a.m. was canceled due to inclement weather. There was no rain date due to the impact on local businesses, traffic, public safety, and participant availability.

• Easthampton – A firework show will be held June 28 at 9:30 p.m. at Galbraith Field. Festivities will take place beforehand. A rain date is set for June 29 at 9:30 p.m.

• Greenfield – Fireworks will take place July 5 at 9:30 p.m. at 195 Federal St. Festivities will take place prior to the firework show. A rain date is set for July 6.

• Holyoke – Fireworks will take place at Holyoke Community College at dusk (about 9:30 p.m.) on June 27. A rain date was set for June 28. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m.

• Monson – Fireworks will take place June 28 at 9:35 p.m. at Quarry Hill Community School. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m.

• Northampton – Fireworks will take place June 28 at 9:30 p.m. at Look Park, with festivities taking place prior to the show. A rain date is set for June 29.

• Shelburne – A parade and chicken barbeque at will take place July 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Shelburne Elementary School.

• South Hadley – Fireworks will take place July 5 at 9:30 p.m. at Michael E. Smith Middle School. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m.

• Springfield – A firework display will be held at 9:30 p.m. on July 5 at Riverfront Park over the Memorial Bridge. The entertainment planned for before the fireworks has been canceled due to forecasted rain.

• Ware – A firework show will be held at 10 p.m. June 28 at Grenville Park. Music will be performed from 5 to 7 p.m. by Ron Jones & The Diehards

• West Springfield – A July 4 chicken barbeque will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the town common. The cost is $10 per person. A firework display will take place at 9:15 p.m.

• Westfield – A firework display will take place at dusk on July 5 at Stanley Park.
